Trenton North Ward Candidate's Debate |
Feb 16, 2010 6:30 PM |
Donnelly Homes Community Center
|
875 New Willow St
Trenton, NJ |
| Please Roland Laird as he participates in a North Ward Candidate's debate organized by educator Baye Kemit.
From the invite to the candidates: The theme is: Challenges and Solutions Confronting Trenton’s African-American Community. The focus is to address the concerns, challenges, experiences, questions, and solutions to the quality of life of African-Americans in Trenton. Understandably, your Council candidacy is ward-wide, without boundaries or borders to race, creed, color, gender, etc., yet the largely African American populated ward, school district, criminal justice system, unemployment, and other societal ills of the North ward community needs serious attention. In the spirit of mutual progress, and in the words of Booker T. Washington, it is incumbent upon African Americans to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. With the support of our elected officials, we will collectively be the positive change for the future. | |||
